Join us for this special forum to discuss and celebrate the work and practice of artist John Nixon.
With a career spanning more than 50 years, Nixon was a pivotal Australian figure in the history of abstract and non-objective art. Nixon pursued an experimental practice focused on painting together with other disciplines including collage, drawing, print making, film, music and dance.
Join panellists Stephan Bram, Kerrie Poliness, Jacqueline Stojanovic and Francis Plagne as they discuss Nixon's work and his contribution to Australian and international contemporary art practice.

Atkins' practice is based on everyday images, forms and symbols found in the urban and online environment which are deconstructed and reinvested with new meaning. Particular interest is paid to the cultural associations of forms that have a capacity to trigger within the viewer, memory, nostalgia or a shared history of past experiences.
